Wew finally tried this. FIRST AND LAST TIME MAN!
Been wanting to try this since forever. But the queue is forever crazy! Thanks to you know what, the queue has died down so I’ve decided to try it after my yoga. Worst decision ever 😭should’ve gotten my koi !
Chi cha san Chen doesn’t have a lot of selection. Not a problem to me coz I’ll always stick to the same few drinks🤣 read online that “chi cha san Chen is special coz of its special customisation menu. You get to choose the base, toppings and sugar level” hello hello? THATS LIKE EVERY BBT SHOP?! What are you talking about lol. They just tweak it a little and you’re amazed. Zzz dunno what to say
The cashier gave me a tester to try before ordering. It was their signature dong ding oolong fresh milk. And at 100% sugar. Tbh it tasted nice(coz it’s free) and I’ve decided to get that. I ordered 50% sugar less ice and with grass jelly.
Holy cow. Waited a good 10 minutes despite the lack of queue. Okay la give it to them, since their tea is freshly brewed. It’s quite fascinating to watch them work. They’ll weigh the loose tea leaves and put them into a machine that resembles an espresso machine? Lol. Then it’ll start brewing and it’ll be done in about a minute. The staff In charge of the machine will then pass it to another colleague to “customise” the drink.
Super love the packaging. It’s so “pretentious”. I LOVE IT HAHA! of course I had to IG-story it. Finally tried the tea. OMFG THE GRASS JELLY TASTED LIKE AGAR-AGAR. Can you feel my disappointment? 😢 and the tea.. is bitter. I should’ve ordered 100% sugar, but that’s just using sugar to cover the bitterness of the tea right? I have no idea why it’s bitter! Hello I thought it’s freshly brewed? Why is it bitter? WHY!? I’ve tried “superior” freshly brewed oolong tea before in Taiwan and China, and it’s not like this!!
Honestly, I dunno what’s the craze behind chi Cha san Chen. Ppl too free and rich ah? Tsk. You want freshly brewed tea then go Ntuc buy and make at home.. will taste better lo. Now not much hoarders Liao, can go🤪
To those who say “it’s freshly brewed, it’s different!” , im sure you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if you’re doing a blind tasting. 🤪
