Hello everyone, this is chu chu your anonymous flyer. Continuing on the types of crew we have.
The surgeon type: “ pass me the gloves”, “ where is the mug?”, “ where is............”
these are the “instructions” given by those surgeon crews(normally leadings and above). Sometimes, we would rather do it ourselves. Much faster! It’s super irritating for them to keep asking where is this where is that while we are doing other things. we need to stop whatever we’re doing to get the things they want for them and “present” it to them. so might as well we do ourselves.
The bipolar type: they are nice when the flight is smooth but once there is a problem, for example a complaint, movie not playing etc, they will get pissed and angry and vent it on the junior crew.
Black and white type : Everything need to be as per procedure. Usually there is this saying in amongst ourselves, those who follow black and white do not know their work or can perform their work well as they are too robotic. We are encouraged to be creative and think out of box as long as we don’t compromise safety and security.
Can’t be bothered type: never take any pride in their work. Can’t be bothered with customer care. just here for the money, kill time and etc. This is sad but we are seeing a lot of such crew now. Chuchu was working with a newly business class trained crew in business class. The new crew role was to serve the meal because she had taken the order. While chuchu was helping passenger to clear their plate and top up their drink, this new crew placed an oriental soup dish with the chopsticks placed upside down on the passenger’s tray table. When chuchu saw it, chuchu quickly rearranged the chopsticks for the passenger and apologise. if not, I can forsee a complaint coming in.
So back to the galley, chuchu asked the new crew if she uses chopsticks. She said yes! She does. So i asked why she don’t even bother to check the chopsticks before placing it down for the passenger? We are on air fine dining, even coffeeshop aunty will never give us one head one tail chopstick. This is only one of the example.
To be continued.....
